SAMSUNG 3D PLASMA GOES WILD

Samsung are set to release the LED 9 series and Plasma 7 Series TVs, as well as the HT-C6930W home theatre system later this year.
“The success of recent 3D movie titles is building anticipation from people who want to enjoy the richness of 3D content from the comfort of their living room,” said Samsung’s President of Visual Display Business, BooKeun Yoon.
“We are confident that by being first to market with the best integrated technology and approach, we have the best opportunity to capitalise on the market anticipation and continue to strengthen our leadership in 2010,” he said.
All of the 3D models will come with a built-in Ethernet connection and a USB port that will support an optional dongle for wireless-ready capabilities.
Samsung has been mass producing 3D TVs since January this year in 40 inch, 46 inch and 55 inch screen sizes.
To experience the extra dimension, users will be required to wear active-shutter glasses to experience the 3D effect of the alternatively displayed left and right eye images.
The TV maker has included auto-conversion technology in its 3D processor that renders 2D content into 3D in real time, allowing users to add a new level of depth to live programs.
“Consumers can add a level of depth and clarity to a live football game, with the simple push of a button”, the company says.

 Samsung Electronics joined forces with RealD, announcing the market introduction of HDTV in 3D technology, which appears in a wide range of multimedia TV Samsung LED, LCD and plasma displays.

Under the partnership, Samsung and RealD will work on further development of the stereoscopic imaging technology with high-quality format, RealD, providing users with high quality three-dimensional content. Companies will also focus on the development of technology active and passive viewing lens (New Passive Display), in order to promote the widespread use of 3D HDTV solutions.
RealD format is an improved version of the format of the side-by-side 3D. It uses a unique set of filters and technology mergers regardless of three-dimensional images coming to the right and left eye in a single channel that transmits high-quality 3D Content.

During CES 2010, Samsung unveiled the broadest line of TVs yet 3D, including receivers, LEDs, LCD and plasma. Thanks to Samsung's offer will be both technologically advanced premium class products and devices intended for users who are just starting their adventure with the new technologies. Samsung 3D TV sets are equipped with embedded processor, enabling playback of 3D three-dimensional images stored in the most popular 3D file formats. 3D processor developed by Samsung ensures high image quality and reduces the unwanted effect of vibrations. This is now a simple solution on the market that offer superior image quality in three dimensions.

Hardware manufacturers are supporting the 3D revolution
The investment in 3D hardware by likes of Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, LG and Philips suggests that 3D TV is being taken very seriously. Samsung in particular is betting big on the format with almost half of its 2010 LCD TV's becoming 3D ready.
                                                                           
Panasonic, LG, Sony and Samsung have all recently previewed their own 3D TV systems. LG has demonstrated a 60in plasma and 55in LCD displaying Full HD 3D material directly from their BD300 Blu-ray player. Panasonic meanwhile has shown off a Full HD 3D system on its 103in plasma. 3D TV's and Blu-ray players will begin to appear in the UK Spring 2010.
